robertcda,
Just what did those seats look like. I think a bunch of us would be interested in seeing those.

Agreed. I would like to put 60/40's in my LUV and try to get the AC I got off of eBay in too, but time is a problem with a daily driver and the other vehicle's power steering and other pieces parts are laying on the ground.

I have one truck out of ten I own that has factory bucket seats and I got a set from Kuranosuke last year out of his truck that were factory. I've seen a lot of trucks, and these are the only two sets of buckets I know were original. I don't recommend anyone go seeking them out as replacements for a bench though. They are solid backed, meaning to get anything out from behind them the only way is to slide them all the way forward and reach around the seat back. The seats in my 86 trooper look nearly identical and fold forward nicely. I tolerate the ones in my 77 though as someone modified it to flop forward. Too bad they didn't work out how to latch it back.

I also have one truck in ten with factory AC. I think it depends a lot on where you are. This particular truck came from Utah where AC is a lot more needed than it is around here in the Pacific NW. I have not seen too many around here with AC, but they seem to be more common in hotter areas. At least that is where more of the originally landed. They've moved around a lot since they were new, but you still typically find trucks within a few hundred miles of the dealership they sold from.

Hey 800xl,

In your Luv with the 86 trooper bucket seats, did you just drill holes and bolt them in? Or did you have any other work to do?

No, I have an 86 trooper with seats and a LUV with factory LUV buckets. The Trooper seats would need a bracket on the inner side to make up for about 3 inches of gap at the front and 2 inches at the rear. The factory luv outer brackets also push the seat toward center about an inch from the bench mounting holes. I had to make one of the outer brackets and bolt it to the slider. Mine were long since turned to rust and Kuranosuke kept the ones off the seats I got from him.

Next time I have them visible I will take some pics of the brackets on the factory seats. I might have some of mine that I redid and painted, but I have not been able to find them.

i'm not sure they sold luvs without ac down here in texas. my 80 and 81 both have ac. but my 80 parts truck doesn't have ac, but it was from up north, it evan has a engine block heater. i have 2 bucket seats out of a chevy van in my 80 luv, but they are huge. its a good thing the back window is broke out of the luv cause the seat headrests stick out the back window. and i'm not kidding.
