 Post subject: Good Engine Rebuilders
PostPosted: Sun Jun 27, 2004 8:54 pm
Anyone have any suggestions on GOOD engine rebuilders? Preferably in the Los Angeles area, but willing to look other places as well. I would just rather have someone who knows these trucks a bit better is all. I'm in need and would appreciate any help.

It's my daily driver and I just don't have the skill level to be able to do it.

Do it yourself. You'll be amazed at the fact you can do it. It's very rewarding to drive around with a motor that you made happen. If you hit a rough spot, there's about a dozen or so people on this site that can walk you thru it. As for engine builders, there's 1000's of them that can do it and only about 100 of them will stand behind their work. After you get the labor bill you'll want to kick yourself for not doing it yourself. If you have some buddies that are gearheads, get them to help you. It's suprising to see so much work done for free beer. Get some help and this way you can learn some stuff about motors in general. If i were there, i'd be over in a flash with a ring compressor and a torque wrench.
