hey i posted this in the classifieds but more people look here first...

I am desperatly in need of the stock elect ignition system for my 1980, if any one out there knows of or has what i'm looking for .........well money talks i guess.....people have sugested the aftermarket aproach but i'm interested in what i know works.

yest the electronic ignition is a vary easy replacement. I did it in about an hour and i did a write up on it in the info section. Use the e-mail in that write up if you have questions. The initial outlay of cash is a bit but compared to the 1mpg more i got and not having to replace points all the time it will pay for itself in a few years. And it gives better performance and the poor 1.8L needs all the help it can get

yeah i am quite aware of the interchangability, but i'm having a hard time finding the parts........every time i find an 81 in the yard the ignitor module is gone.

i'm pretty sure from the amount of people that have done the v-6/8 conversions that someone out there has the parts i need...I hope?

i am willing to pay someone who can find the setup in there local junk yard a finder's fee, as well as for the parts...I just can't afford $400 for a new igniter from Kragen......

is the same ignition set used on any other izuzu cars like the i-mark etc.?
cause if the distributer fits then every thing else is gravy eh?
