I am going to rebuild a webber dgv I bought on e-bay and wanted to know how. Is there any web site that might help or should I just take it apart , clean it. and use a rebuild kit to put it back together. If anyone has any tips please let me know. Thanks

i bought a book on webers on rebuildin and thats what i d do if i were you their is a lot of details you should do when rebuilding one

details? like wut? I always just tear down/soak in acid/ reassemble with new parts...is there more to it? Also...im looking for something more potent to burn the crap out of the carb parts...whats best to use?

chiltons or haynes makes a weber carb shop manual also

I've always used Berryman's Parts Dip. It comes in a paint can container with a basket inside. The stuff reeks like you wouldn't believe and it will get in to your clothing. You'll smell the stuff for days no matter how carefull you are but it WILL remove anything and everything from a carb. Make sure that all the plastic and rubber seals are removed from the carb before you soak the components. This stuff Does work well.

If you're unfamiliar with the carb, take or draw pictures that can serve as a reminder of how it looked in all stages of disassembly. This can save a lot of frustration.

Thank god for the digital camera. What a great way to document the disassembly of the carb.

If you feel energetic enough, put together a word document showing a step by step process of the rebuild with pictures. Im sure that others with webbers would love to see it done in detail. I only wish that i would have done the same with my Ford 9" axle build. It went smooth as glass and if i could have taken pics of the assembly, i could have sent the file to anyone that was concidering doing an axle build.
