my temp gauge stoped working so im thinkin the wire poped off but i cant find were it is. i heard it is under the intake manifold but i still cant find it. if anyone knows were it is i would really appriciate it and could you kinda specify were it is if it is under the manifold thanks! its a 79 4x4 luv

Basically it is right directly under the thermostat housing. Follow the top radiator hose into the intake, and then feel the bottom side underneath it. The connector on the sensor will feel a lot like the end of a bolt to your fingers fumbling around under there, but if you carefully feel around it you will notice it kind of feels like the head of a nail instead.

The wire comes from the fender right around the coil, look for a single wire hanging down from there with a slide on connector on the end. That will be it. IIRC it is black with a yellow stripe.
