so everyone knows what im talking about right? the pulley on the firewall that has the ebrake cable on it??? Ya...i think every luv had one and they made the damn thing out of the most brittle material they could find. Anyways, I cannot find a replacement for the life of me. Anybody ever fixed this? If so, how?

I took mine off......
wouldn't fit with the V6 or the V8, so no parking brake for me.
I will prolly put one on sometime in the future.....who knows.

I think I have the pulley....if I can find it I will let you know.

thats the first thing i broke
got i the truck and started it ,popped the clutch and it was gone

i've needed need to fix that.
i went in to a 7 eleven one day and kept the truck running since it was on a flat road. i was in line waiting to pay and this little girl came up to me and said ' sir your truck is rolling away ' 8O scared the shit out of me i ran out side to find it 20 yards away still rolling with the mom holding on to the tailgate trying to stop it.
i had to thank her, saying if it rolled another 5 feet in would've smashed a trash can

Yep, same as Luv4me, had to go with the motor conversion, heard that some people just put a bolt through the hole and shorten the cable a little bit, not pretty but it works.

you might try going to Tractor Supply. I got a better than average choke cable there. Actually it was a stop cable for a tractor but it serves the same function. I'd have to think that they'd have steel pulleys there. I dont think that plastic pulleys would last very long on a farm or ranch.

That's funny you said that. Reminded me of my Chevelle. It was a 3 on the tree til I put the t-350 in, and I couldn't get park, so for the longest time I just put it in Neutral and put a brick behind, or in front of the tire depending which way the slope of the road was. :D

It seems like it would not be too hard to make something that would work. Cut a circle out of steel the size of the inner portion of the pulley, then two circles out of slightly thinner stuff the size of the outer portion of the pulley. Put it all together like a sandwich with the two larger circles on the outside and the smaller inside, then weld it. You could also drill and tap 3-4 holes in the three layers and countersink in some short machine screws, or just hold it together with the center bolt.

Personally, I've only ever had one broken one and it was because a prior owner had fixed the broken cable with a clamp which hit the pulley. The angle on that pulley with a body lift can be a problem, but mine has been holding for 3 years or so since I swapped it with a spare with 2 inches of lift.
