Do you smell gas when you try and restart? Can you hear the fuel pump running? Is your ignition failing after it gets warm? When was the last time you performed a tune up on the engine? It could be a number of things that could cause the problem.

Sounds like fuel delivery problems to me, but like Blue Meanie sais it could be a lot of things.

If you try to restart right after it dies can you get it to go another 2-3 mins? If so I would be thinking something in the fuel pump relay. I think there is a bypass that runs the pump when you turn the key to start, but once it is running a relay kicks on to keep the pump going. That relay is controlled off the alt and voltage reg to tell when the motor is spinning. The relay itself is hidden behind a metal cover on the passenger side inner fender. The reason for it is to kill the pump in the event of an accident so you don't have it pumping gas on a potential fireball. Now, to test this theory, get it running and immediately check to see if the pump is running. (Its on a frame crossmember under the truck just ahead of the driver's side rear wheel.) You should hear it ticking some, or at least be able to feel it. If its going, then I'd start looking at how much it pumps, and if the filter is clogged.
