might be the voltage regulator. I think it just comes on when voltage drops below a certain point. Its just like a voltage gage only when it drops a relay clicks closed and completes the circut for the light. At least thats how i think it works. But at any rate, i would check out the voltage regulator.

The charging voltage must be greater than the battery voltage to turn out the generator warning light. If not the charging relay in the Voltage Regulator drops out to give the warning light a ground for the battery voltage on it, thus turning it on. When you change the alternator without changing the regulator, you often get your problem. Burnt points in the regulator.

Replace your battery terminals. Mine had a problem until I replaced them and now the light don't glow any more.

My high beam light glows a little when the lights are on, and when I use the blinkers they are opposite on the dash then what I am showing in the rear. [only w/ the lights on]. Whats up w/ that?

Somebody crossed some wiring somewhere. Current follows the path of least resistance. In your case, right down the wrong wire. Look for new wiring or spices in the lighting circuit. Did somebody change the steering wheel? Or maybe a corroded connection underneath on the creating a high resistant short. Very hard trouble to find.
