 Post subject: rearend rebuild??
PostPosted: Tue Mar 23, 2004 6:18 pm
hey guys, new member and owner of luv.. My rearend is going bad in a hurry (was run without oil in it). I was wondering if it is easier(and cheaper) to rebuild or replace? If rebuild what all parts do you think will be needed other than ring gear, pinion, pinion bearing and seal? And if replacing is the way to go, what else will bolt up without mods.. :D

I would think that just replacing it with a good used unit would be the most practical cause I know replacing everything in a rear end can get real expensive, quick.
As far as replacing it with something other than a LUV, anything other than an Isuzu will require modifications of some kind.
Good luck.
