Can anyone tell me what all parts would be required to add A/C to my 1980. I can get the majority of the parts off an early 80's P'UP, but have a few questions about what items would be needed in addition to the compressor and brackets, hoses, condenser and evaporator? any info would be helpful?

You sure about this? There's a lot of work under the dash. Cables switches, ducting to name a few. I have a factory install AC on my 80 LUV, and if it wasn't already installed, I'd pay to have it done. Too much hassle for me.

It does seem like a crap load of work, but here where i live a/c is almost a requirement in the summertime. I am trying to determine if it is worth the time and exactly what all is involved. Is there any chance you mightb mbe able to send me picstures of what all is different so i can get a visual on this? Thanks...

an early 80s pup will have different lines. about the only thing you can use off a pup would be the compressor and the compressor bracket. you also need the evaporator core which is under the dash. your best bet is to gut a luv with ac or find a under the dash ac unit to install.

I put a factory a/c setup on my luv off a 77 mikado luv, ALL the wires are there most are wrapped in green tape. the a/c trucks have different heater core case for the evaporator unit, and control panel has to be changed. there is also a relay loacated on the left side of the steering wheel under dash got to do a little searching for it. under the hood there is an idle speed control that bolts on behind carb. i bought a new drier bottle from autozone it isnt hard if you have all the parts. i live in ohio and bought the two rubber hoses and the short metal one from a junkyard in alabama!

Still trying to sell my truck if anyone is interested email me at mopar4me@raex.com pics are on here towards bottom under ryan whinery
