the tie rod unscrew from the steering rod. the rod is hex shaped so you can hold it with a wrench. the tie rod is hex shaped so you can get a wrench on it. theres also a nut that is tightened up against the tie rod on the steering rod that you will have to loosen. you don't have to have a special tool. it helps but i've never used a puller to get them off. a couple of hard hits with a big hammer will pursuade them to come off. hit the wheel spindle, where the tie rod goes in. when you unscrew the tie rod you can count how many turns it takes to come off and put the new one that same amount. this will get the allignment good enough so you can drive to the allignment shop. or you can allign it yourself, it may not be perfect but its pretty darn close.

its not a hard task, just undo the nut, trun it upside down n put it back on level with the start of the tierod bolt, then attack it with a hammer, putting the nut back on stops you from threading the tierod even if ur replacing it its still a good idea to do it.

Mark it, Unbolt it, smack it with a hammer, unscrew it, and replace. Repeat if necessary.

The BFH, only tool you'll ever need. Does great on alignments, and just as well on body work. Not so good for windshield installations.
