Does the cable come out of the housing? I'd like to flush the housing clean inside and relube the cable, when I change the pedal arm mount bracket.

yea it comes off, the clutch fork sticks out of a whole in the bellhousing. it'll be hard to wash inside the housing though. i'm not sure i would. maybe use water, but nothing else, don't want to hurt the clutch.

Or were you talking about the cable jacket? If so, I don't think it will come clear out of the jacket, the ends are stuck on the cable so you can't pull it clear through. You can coax quite a bit of lube into the jacket using the cable as a wick or just submerge the whole thing in oil for a while.

I meant does the inner cable slide all the way out of the tubular housing? That way you could flush the housing out with solvent, dry and relube before putting the cable back in.

Yeah, that is what I was thinking. I am pretty sure both hooks on the ends of the cable are permanently attached so you can't pull the inner cable out of the jacket/housing. You'd have to soak the whole works, pull the cable back and forth a few times, maybe blow out the solvent with an air house, repeat, then soak it with some sort of lube.

Well, that's what I'll do, then. I've done that to other cables. Y'all wish me luck. The weather supposed to be pretty good next week, so I'm thinking I'll start on the bracket after I get wifey back from the doctor. I'll have to stick close to home anyway to keep tabs on her. Be a good time to start. I'll let you all know how it turns out.
