lol sounds like every one is having problems with there hitachi carbs lol... atleast i know im not alonem lol im ready to thow mine over the hill :P where is every one geting thes webber carbs ?

You might want to check this out also, much cheaper and it has the adapter for the air cleaner which cost an extra 34.00 and the intake adaptor which costs an extra 30.00 and it also has the throttle cable bracket which costs an extra 30.00 and it also has the throttle return thingy,(sorry I cant remember what it is called). But that costs an extra 29.99

hey, the hitachi is not that bad i got 2 that are running great, gotta leave it on till i get it inspected then the weber is going on. you gotta think these things are over 20 years old. i'd say thats pretty good life for a carb.

make that 3 that are running great. i forgot the 85 pup has a hitachi and it runs great, and i doubt its ever had a kit put in it.

ya i got my hitachi runnin good finally...had to rebuild it but its not that bad...i found out the hitachi wasnt even giving me the most of my problems...it was my loose distributer...thing has been adjusting and unadjusting by itself ...how nice...

lol.. i seen that already... hmmmmmmmm.... i dont know what to do lol.. i just want to get it runing and on the road with out puting tomuch money in it right away.... i heard you can get 120-130 hp outa the engine just with puting a weber carb and some kinda header lol is that true ?.. plus i heard you gain hp when you take the air pump off.... lol .... i like to get at least 100 hp lol outa the truck with out dumping to much money lol .

I removed my smog system. It did give me a noticable difference in power. Now the truck will never pass emissions though.
