im trying to decide to use the cap i have and glue it to my cracked to shit dash or to pull all the dash pad off sand and paint the metal and dress it up. What do you guys think? I have a 79, do the years differ much? What have u guys done? I know some people have had to do some different stuff bcuz not everyone has the 800 friggin dollars to get a new one...the reason i even think of yankin the old one off is bcuz i live in az where the sun has made all the foam crusty which makes dust and is just really makin a mess.

I understand from a good source that Ben is evaluating (already in his hot little hands) a new replacement dash from DashRestoration. His evaluation should be out shortly, and will be posted on the bulletin board. The expectec price for the new dash will be around $400. I hope this works out cause like most of us my dash is 'gone'.

A metal or fiberglass dash would be frickin sweet! My dash in my 81' is cracked to hell, it don't bother me much at the moment, since im more worried about making the outside of the truck decent before the inside. But when the times comes to do the interior i plan on ripping the whole thing outta there and fabing up a nice new metal one! :D It will take some work but its gonna be sweet. Planning on autometer gauges with every availble gauge to monitor the SBC 8) Hopefully someday i get around to building it 8)
