what type of ignition do you have? points or HEI? one simple check for a points ignition is to pop off the cap of the distributor and then turn the key to on(run) postion and then go over to the distributor and ues a flat head screw driver and lightly and carefully move the pont arm away from the drive shaft. there should be a spark that is easyly visable and you can hear a click sound too...if threre is no spark here then you shouls check and make sure that there is power gwting to the coil with a test light. if there is power but no spark rplace the points and condenser it's only like 7.00 to replace both....i just did it.....if you have an HEI take out the modulator chip and take it in to an auto parts store and have them check it
and if you can't get it checked oreder a new one they shouldent be too expensive like 16-20.00 hope this helps....oh and yea when you turn on you key the fule pump should turn on...if it does then you sould have power to the points cause there on the same fuse...
