back-up lamps

My back up lamps won't turn off, I have a 4 speed on an 80. Is the switch easy to get to?

the switch is on the drivers side of the transmission up near the shifter. might be easier to take the rubber boot off the shifter and go through the floor, if it looks like its hard to get to from underneath.

And if that does not take care of it, you may want to see if the ppl who had it before you straight wired dem suckers. Or did this just start happening?

my uncle had it b4 me, it sat for a/b 5 months. the shifter boot is missing, so maybe some dirt got in the switch
