Using a Dorman Universal 5-pin universal relay 30 amp part number 88069 you can easily replace your stock factory bad 5 pin relay. I chose to use a spare 6 pin Chevy connector and repinned with male connectors and added female slide connectors for the relay end, but a direct splice with slide connectors will work too. I would suggest using the all weather clear heat shrink connectors.

On a series 4 LUV the proper wire connections are as follows.

-Pin 30 power supply for the relay, Black Yellow (BY)
-Pin 86 acts as the switch, Black White (BW)
-Pin 85 the ground pin, Black (B)
-Pin 87a White Red (WR) Normally closed position
-Pin 87 Black Red (BR) to fuel pump

This is a low buck 14.99 swap and is readily available as of 2024. I've noticed a lot of post are 10 years old without current parts. I hope this helps and happy making LUV.
