1978 Chevy Luv, 1.8, 5SPD. Electrical is stock. AC truck but not installed.

The problem is the blower motor stays on high and cannot turn it down. It’s been this way ever since I put the truck back together. To turn it off, I disconnect the blower blue wire. Blower motor blue wire and black wire both connected when this happens. Once I turn the ignition key off, the blower motor turns off. The “low to hi” lever moves freely and moves the electronic piece that is in place with no effect. All of the other electronics on the truck seem to work fine.

From what I’ve read, the blower is always supposed to stay on, and it does but it will not go to low. Any ideas??

Thank you.
