hey people. i have a 76 chevy luv and have recently ran into some problems yesterday and today. yesterday my truck was almost empty so i went to the gas station i always go to and filled up with premium. as soon as i left the station i noticed a lack of power and when i was coming up the hill to my house the truck started choking and backfiring. since my truck is currently running off of a 6gal tank in the bed (not the most legal thing to do, i know, but finding a new tank is damn near impossible rn) i just emptied out the entire tank and went back and filled up with regular. after this i put a bottle of heet with the gas and it ran normally again.
but today i went back down to the store to fill up again (since i had only put about a gallon in it yesterday) and i filled it up with regular. when i pulled out to leave the same thing happened again! either something is really wrong with all the gas there or something is messed up with the truck. what could be causing this? is there anything i can do to stop this? if i cant find something im probably gonna park the truck for the winter since i don't really want to deal with this anymore. any help would be greatly appriciated. thanks.
