Long story short...
I have a '79 2wd LUV with front disk brakes.
I'm finding out quick that local supply houses no longer have calipers, rotors, bearings, seals in stock.
Most online sites don't offer much hope either.

I did a few search's here on the forums and it looks like some people have had success swapping in 84-86 IsuzuTrooper brake parts...but I'm not sure about what works and what doesn't...left and right calipers are different on a stock luv? Rotor thickness different on a trooper vs luv ?? Ventilated vs solid rotors ? 4wd vs 2wd.... Gets confusing...

So bottom line...can you guys fill me in on what parts swap into a 79 2wd that already has disk brakes with stock parts from a trooper that still can be purchased across the counter without having to scavenge scrap yards for parts and pieces. Calipers/rotor type / hoses/etc...

I've seen some kits online from aerospace and others, but I'm trying to do this without having to break the bank on a set of brakes...

Thanks for any and all useful replies!!!

rockauto.com still has limited LUV brake parts listed & lots of seals & bearings.

Shop for caliper rebuild kits. It's not hard to do yourself. IDK if they are available, but it might be worth a try.

Rockauto doesn't have any calipers in stock...
Tried to place an order for what they list, but when I go to check out , it pops up " no longer available"

I can go the route of rebuilding the calipers...but was looking to the future for a more permanent solution

If anyone has used trooper calipers and rotors I would just like to know if they have any part numbers/ what year trooper they used. And if the trooper calipers fit the stock LUV brackets and rotor.

Last resort I can do the aerospace parts...but dang..that's a lot of money for a set of front brakes...

I rebuilt my calipers and they work just fine. Its easy. Works better if you have a blast cabinet.
