My 79 luv was not having this oil circulation issue before I redid the head gasket. Now after I redid head oil doesn't seem to be flowing through engine. it makes a slight grinding noise(not clunking or piston slap) . I don't know how to figure this one out. Is it possible that when I had the oil pan off that the oil screen may have rusted up a bit? causing poor oil circulation. . I cannot seem to narrow down what could cause this. it did not have this issue before I started the rebuild. it seems highly unlikelythat the oil pump went out while it was sitting there. any advice or suggestions appreciated. thanks.

My first thought is make sure you used the correct head gasket. Possibly an oil galley has gotten plugged and not allowing oil from the block up into the head.
