Just picked up a 72 SBC. I don’t mind manual steering, but the brakes gotta be power. Can anyone recommend a kit on Summit or Jegs? Any help is appreciated

What about changing over to the one that was designed for the truck?

Swap in the components from a 77 or newer Luv. They bolt right in.

Aerospace has a kit but not sure how it would last on the street. I believe you can use some later model Isuzu stuff.

76 also had discs and power brakes.

Y’know what, that’s right I completely forgot. What parts would I need to do that? Just the master cylinder/calipers/pads n rotors?

Aerospace has a drag kit and a street kit. If you are going to do any kind of street driving do not get the drag kit. They won't last!!!

I have a 1973 and a 1977 LUV. My first was the 73 and I swapped out the lousy drum brakes for a later year's disc brakes. This had to be in the '90's. As I remember, the swap out was pretty easy...the nuts and bolts part, but I think I had trouble with the hydraulic lines part. I know I had to get a 'splitter' to go on the lines just after the master cylinder. I think I went to the wrecking yard and removed the two caliper assemblies from the front axles and pretty much had them re-installed on the first day. Seems I had to 're-bend' the brake lines at the master cylinder some. I could take a photo of the master cylinder if someone wants. The early drum brakes had some kind of self adjusting system that never worked for me. Didn't ever figure I needed power brakes after the disc brakes were installed.

Yep the discs work pretty good on such a light truck.
