Hello!
I just stumbled across a 1980 Chevy Luv 4x4 with the Isuzu G180. The truck has been sitting for about 4 years and the previous owner got it "running". Everything is stock on the truck with the exception of a Weber carb. The first thing I am tackling on the PU is the ignition system. I am ordering the MSD 6AL, Blaster 2 Ignition Coil, New Plugs, MSD Spark Plug Wires, a Rebuilt Distributor, and lastly I want to convert over to an electronic ignition system. I have been searching for hours now and have found no guarantee on what part number from Pertronix is for for the stock distributor without modification. How is everyone converting the 1980 over to an electronic ignition? Thank you in advance!

I don't know anything about the Pertronix stuff but here's a link you might find helpful if you're replacing the distributor anyway.

I just put a Pertronix kit in my 1980 4x4. I got kit #1643. But to make sure you need the number off the distributor and then you can look it up on their website.

I got this one and i love it. One wire hook up, runs flawless and cleans up all the rest of the wiring. That simple, no other like this one.

It may be a good distributor, but $400??? I think I'll stick with this one.
