Hello everyone,
I rear ended someone on Sunday night, and wrecked up the front of my truck pretty bad. Im definitely fixing it, but its going to take a while. I have a spare parts truck that has a good cab on it, and I was wondering how much work it would actually be to swap the cabs over. Swapping cabs would be the best and cheapest option to fix her back up. Looking at my truck, the frame still looks good, and the drivetrain still looks good. I'd appreciate any help. Ill post some pictures here shortly

I would clip the front if the donor is good. On my phone now so it is hard for me too look it up. Look up my street truck build thread here. I have some pics in there with what I am talking about...

I was thinking about just using from the firewall forward on the parts truck, but I damaged the metal that reinforces the dash with my knee. the dash in my truck is ruined, but the parts truck dash is really good plus the firewall isnt damaged at all. On my truck, the firewall is pushed back a little i believe.

I replaced the cab on my truck. It's pretty easy. I could do it in a weekend if I had to.

It's been a while. A couple wire connectors on the firewall by the washer bottle. Wiring harness for the transmission, remove 6 or 8 bolts that hold the cab to the frame, steering shaft at the steering box, remove radiator is what comes to mind.

Thanks alot for the help. So far I have a new radiator, fan-fan clutch, condenser, and grill/bezels to fix it, plus all the sheetmetal from my parts truck. Anyone that can think of any more parts please let me know. The little truck will be back.

I' ve done it twice on two different trucks. Not too bad. I lifted mine off with a chain hoist in a tree. Bad one up and off and then set down on the bed, Then the good one up and bad chassie rolled out and good rolled under. Just be sure to watch as you hoist them up because there will be wires etc that you overlooked.

Thank you. I don't think that the actual cab swap will be the issue, but the hard part will be swapping over all of the stuff out of the damaged cab including the carpet, headliner, gauge cluster, and AC. Thanks again for all the help everyone. I'll be posting some updates soon.
