Installing a new Luk clutch, pilot bearing and release bearing.

Now when I put the transmission in the release bearing does not engage with the springs of the pressure plate. Lots of slop in the clutch cable. Any ideas??

1 pic is of clutch cable compared to shift fork when the shift fork is moved so the release bearing is in contact with springs. Second is how much play there is of release bearing

Looks to me on face value you have the wrong clutch kit. What year model ect and part number for the clutch you got? Assuming you've adjusted the clutch cable at the firewall?

Luk part no 04-058
For a 1980 rwd luv 1.8l
Seems all parts look like the old ones.

Tried adjust cable at firewall but there isnt enough adustment to get the release bearing to engage springs

If the pilot bearing is flush with the crank you are fine. Is it possible the cable s too stretched? Double check you have the clutch cable brackets in the correct place.

No worries, glad you got it figured out. I wish you were closer I could use some help with a throw-out bearing. 8)
