Outside of finding a donor Luv, are there an corrugated panels available for bed patch panels?

Or is there someone out there in forum land that has patch panels available? I'm looking for patch material for the corrugated bed in a 81 Luv and the end panel that the tail gate attaches too.

Thanks ya'll.

There's no pre-formed bed sheetmetal that I know of for the 2nd generation LUV. And it might be hard to work with corrugated stock, because the factory parts are flattened around the edges. The bed floor is actually 5 pieces, if I recall correctly. The center section could probably be replaced with corrugated steel, but it's the side sections that typically rust out.

Thanks Jack, that's exactly what we're dealing with. The side sections are rusted in several places. I suppose I could replace them with just sheet metal. And the rear bed quarter panels need patch panels as well.

Decent beds are really hard to find. I watched all my local yards for about 10 years. I finally got a pretty clean long bed from a friend in southern Oregon, who brought to me in Tennessee. Before I could even get it painted, I found a local one that was near perfect and paid $150, I think.

At the time, my truck was in the Atlanta area having the engine overhauled. Before the overhaul was finished, a guy in Atlanta bought the bed that I had on it, and I had to drive home to TN without a bed! That's how in-demand they are.

I've seen a few decent short beds in the local yards, but at the time, I didn't know anybody looking for a short one. Which one do you need?

I realize this is the opposite side of the country, but beds are not as hard to find - and are usually in alright shape - down here in the dry southwest.

For example, here's a $300 slightly-funky one: http://inlandempire.craigslist.org/pts/5776409746.html

Not sure what kind of costs you're looking at putting into the bed you're fixing, but if $300+a reasonable amount for my time is less than that amount , I'd box this up and ship it to you. Just an alternative...

Also, maybe someone else will confirm, but can't you get 'new' bed components from Thai or Vietnamese aftermarket distributors? ..or something like that?

Has anyone had any luck finding replacement bed floor parts?

There's a fairly decent short bed at the Memphis Pull-A-Part. I'd post a picture, but it's larger than the size limit here.

And I know a guy in the Atlanta area who has at least one short bed for sale, I think for $450.

Yep, that one. At that price, I'd want more pictures.

The one at the Pull-A-Part in Memphis didn't look too bad, but not pristine. I resized the images to they'd upload here. They'd probably get $100-$150 for it.
