I'll post some pics up to see if you guys can help me wiring some things back. I took this apart years ago and didn't take enough pictures before taking things apart. Any help would be appreciated.

I have the work I'm doing to it on another thread, stock trucks, "Attempting to refurbish interior"

viewtopic.php?f=5&t=29607

In the first pic where does that yellow wire w/ the green stripe connect to? It's on the harness that attaches to the seatbelt.

The solid yellow wire coming out of the gauge area, ?????

The two black wires with white stripes that I have coming out of the gauges area?

The blue wire I show coming out of the ash tray with the four different wires/ connector coming from the harness?

The blue wire coming out from the bottom of the AC box? There are also three male connectors there, what wires go there?

The solid wire coming out of the top of the AC unit, where do I attach that to?

Thank you, it's a 1978. For those of you who can read that diagram, you're great. I don't understand any of that. But I'll keep going over it until I get something out of it.

It's a 1978 Luv.

I have figured out most of it, I still have a few wires and one small harness connection behind the gauges/cluster that I'm not sure about. The connection behind the cluster has four wires to it, female, blue/ black, black, blue/ white , white/red. Any ideas?

Also, behind the gauges there are two small holes where it looks like it's missing two bulbs like the rest. Is that what I'm missing, two bulbs? Other circuit board doesn't have brass outlined like the rest is why it's throwing me off.

Forgive my stupidity for if this sounds really stupid, I'm not a mechanic. Is the speed sensor located under the dash? One of those electrical boxes that are positioned back to back?

If not, where is the connection for that?

Thanks for the help.

Not sure where it is under the dash, t took mine out when I put in a V8. I simply went to the wiring diagram and looked for a four wire connection with the colors of the wiring, I found it in less then 15 seconds. All of your answers are there.

Not the speed sensor. I'll keep checking. Thanks

In the picture, the black box, that is the speed sensor.

Last I will try to help you, you really need to read the wiring schematic. Your pic is hard to see all the colors. I found a 4 pin comment or that is black, blue, blue/black tracer, white/red tracer. Are those the colors? If so it goes to a A/C relay.

As for reading the wire colors on the diagram it is like this: example-- 0.5 BR. This is 0.5 is the wire diameter in mm, B=black, R=red tracer. Hope this helps.

Don't know what to tell you then. Your just going to have to read the diagram. If it's too small then print it out and have a copy company like Kinkos blow it up.

Also may help: Colors stated in diagram are
B=black
R=red
Y=yellow
G=green
W=white
L=lavender (Actually blue but they say lavander).

I also enlarge it about three times with the + at the top of the page for easier reading/seeing.

Thanks a lot for the help guys. I'll get back to it as soon as I finish up some other things that are keeping me busy. I took this truck apart a long time ago and putting the screws/bolts together for all of the different components is time consuming. I'm trying to install the drive train now.

Thanks again for your help.

I recent pulled a 78 wiring harness out & sold it. But before doing so I made a video trying to show all the wires with some explanation

maybe this will shed some light on something you may still be working on.

I just got back on to this project. I have two LUV manuals and have been looking at the diagrams for the past three days. Thank you Luvr8, it was the plug for the AC relay.

Also, I have been trying to figure out why I don't have power going to the starter solenoid upon ignition start. Three days of this, off and on. So I looked at a lot of things, taking the cluster out and looking at everything. Finally, I figured out, there is additional clutch wiring aside from the normal switch. The two black wires with the white stripe that I had asked about on an earlier post here, those wires go to another clutch starter switch that is below the first clutch switch, if that makes sense. I hooked it up and it worked.

To 3rdluvnext, thank you for that video. It helped me to figure out the correct connection to two wires directly behind the cluster.

I wanted to get the engine to crank as I fix some things that come up here and there, small leaks etc. I finally got it to crank with everything hooked up. I'm waiting for the electric fuel pump to come by mail. The rest should be a lot easier, I hope. I shouldn't say that. I don't know if you guys saw my build post but I was able to get an electronic distributor from Performance Distributors that has an integrated coil. All in one distributor, ONE WIRE HOOKUP. I hope I don't mess that up.

Thanks you guys for the help.
