Starting in 1980 the intake diameter went down from 42.4mm(1.67") to 40.4mm(1.59"), the exhaust stayed at 34mm(1.34"). The G200Z 1.9 engines also used the same size valves as the 1980-on G180Z.

Thank you for responding so fast. You don't happen to know the length?

4.3543"/110.6mm intake
4.301"/109.25mm exhaust
Stem diameter is 8mm

Overall length is nearly identical to the 2.3 & 2.6 engine valves, stems are all 8mm, which leads me to believe that if there's enough material to machine for the larger valve seats you could install up to the 44mm/37mm 2.6 engine valves. In fact someone at ozgemini has most likely done it.

What are you planning for yours with the valve sizes?

I ordered a Gemini kit a couple weeks ago and they recommended 4zd1 exhaust valves and said the intake may already be as big as the ones on that engine. They are cheap so if anyone knows the intake valves fit let me know so I can get some.

Your '79 engine should have the larger intakes, which are the same size as the 4ZD1 engine (42.4mm), but you won't know for sure until you measure. The exhausts are 34mm, 4ZD1s are 36mm. If the outside valve seat dimensions are both the same I see no reason the 4ZD1 valves & seats can't be installed.
