 Post subject: Pilot bearing install

Do y'all have any tips for install without a special tool? Is it ok to use a socket to pound it in?

That works, but be really careful to use a socket that presses only against the outer ring. If it gets even slightly crooked, don't force it. I ruined one that way.

Maybe someone else can tell us how to keep it straight. :?:

Freeze it overnight first. It'll shrink slightly and make it easier to start.
