If you have followed my build titled "Attempting to Refurbish Interior", I have a 1978 Chevy Luv that I have been putting back together. I began by refurbishing the interior than got into the engine. Rebuilt and balanced G200 block (.30 over), G180 head, Delta cam w/ dual valve springs and titanium retainers, side draft Lynx intake and carb -dellorto 45, mated to a 5 spd transmission.

Today I received this brand new complete electronic distributor with a built in coil plus some custom wires made by Performance Distributors located in Memphis Tennessee. This thing is beautiful!! I'll post pictures. I'll have the truck running with this distributor in a couple of weeks.

I talked to Steve from Performance Distributors about them building this and he came through. What a work of art this distributor. Note: I asked them to build it without a vacuum advance and re-curved it for me because of the intake /carburetor set up I am running.

I'm in a hurry right now, I need to get to work. I'll post some pictures up for you guys to see now and when finished, I'll post a video and more photos.

I'll also post this on my thread where I'm putting my truck together.

That engine is a piece of artwork. Very nicely done!

I need part number. I need part number. I so want this. Can you help an Arkansas brother out and tell us where, and how you got this?

Hey, just call the number seen on one of the pictures I took and ask for Steve. The number shown is 901 396 5782 at Performance Distributors in Memphis Tennessee.

Steve actually posted something about building something like this under the forum name "PerfDist" (I'm not sure if this is exactly correct) with not many replies in return that I saw. Steve emailed me and asked if I was interested in something like this. I told him I was and held my breath as far as anyone getting something like this done. Since then he has kept in touch, built the distributor like he said he would and sent it to me. I have also looked up the company and it is a reputable one. Through the years I have seen their product in many places to include magazines and didn't put it together at first.

For me, I am limited in my mechanical abilities and this makes life easier for me. Also, for anyone looking for a good performance electronic distributor for the LUV or just a good distributor, this thing is awesome. I can't get over it. I have shared this on OZGemini and isuzupup websites. Anytime we can get help with parts of this quality for our forgotten (by most people) trucks, we should take advantage of it. Not to many big companies or small, making parts like this for these little trucks.

Here is the part number, #89909. As I explained, for applications that need a vaccuum advance, let them know to add that. They made mine without at my request.
