I was wondering if someone could post a pick as to how to route the hood release cable.
The body shop removed it then snapped the cable so I have no Idea how it is routed. I do know the cable has to pull from the passenger side other than that I have no clue. This will be for a 73/76 Luv.
Thanks in advance.

I have a 72 and a 78 and they both mount on the driver side at the top front of the kick panel. The cable goes through the firewall and along the firewall under the hood toward the latch.

from the latch inside out and along the fire wall is ok but what has me baffled is that the cable has to pull from the passenger side not the drivers side
so I guess what I need to know is does the cable make a loop and where does the end actually mount at the hood latch.

TY I just went out and put the cable in. Unless you know that there is another connector hidden on the hood latch you scratch your head as to how to make the lower one work.

would the lower one be used for right hand drive vehicles ?
I was thinking of using the bottom cable connection as a back up pull in case my cable breaks.

So getting an Australian cable setup could give you engine access from either side of the truck.hmmmm

the original cable I had broke and I had the cable ran to the fender well where I could reach right by the tire and pop the hood I think that I will figure a way to keep it some where around there as a back up.

When I had my engine bay stripped of every thing to paint I was a bit confused like you trying to put it back together. Nice job of Isuzu making one part to work on both left and right hand drives, but they sure did mess with many of us.

I did take mine apart. Apparently after I sleep I forget everything.

I can see where that would be a problem..I usually suggest tp people & take pics of what i'm doing cause the manuals don't always give the detail we need... Glad you go it going
