The other night I was driving home, and I turned the corner at a stop light. Next thing I know, I step on the gas and I heard a tapping noise something awful what sounded like it was coming out of the top of the engine. I pulled over and didn't see anything wrong, but I noticed that it was running poorly. Every time it is under load, the tapping noise persists. I pulled the valve cover off the next day thinking that it had a broken valve spring. All the springs were fine. I pulled off wires to see which cylinder was having trouble, and it turned out to be cylinders 3 and 4 were not firing. It looks like they have no compression. I did the liquid head gasket test, and it didn't prove to have exhaust gas in the water, but my dad still persists that it is the head gasket, which was replaced 8 months ago. I think that it is still something to do with the valves. I think that the valves may be too tight, or I may have a burnt valve. Any help would be appreciated
