I bought my 82 diesel Luv last week for $500. I could not pass it up.It has 124,000 miles on it and the body is straight but the paint is flaking off. I will eventually strip and paint it but for now I will sand it with a DA and do a quick spray to stop the rust. I have noticed almost all the Isuzus and Luvs have paint issues. Will I have to take the whole truck down to bare metal or prevent future problems?

I've used the "$50 paint job" more than once and its a great solution when the vehicle value is on the lower side.
Do an online search. Its basically Rustoleum thinned a bit and applied with a weenie roller. No one believes its not sprayed.

Thanks for the link. I do not plan on doing anything until I drive it while and figure out if it is a keeper.
Time is a serious issue and I have a 51 Chevy and a 85 Toyota 4x4 diesel that both could use paint.

Whoah, that's different from other 35 year old trucks?
