I am away from home and my shop manual. Does anyone know what maximum torque you will need for the bolts on the luv? I am looking to buy a new torque wrench.

If I remember right, the pinion nut needs to be torqued to 250 ft lbs.

I have six torque wrenches, two 1/4 " drive inch-pound for very small stuff, a 3/8" drive 5-30#, two 1/2" drive 20-150# for most everything, and a 1/2" drive 25-250# (the doubles are 1-beam & 1-clicker). I have yet to use anything but the 20-150#s.
Get the best 1/2" drive wrench you can afford in the 20-150 ft-lb range. It will do for 98+% of any work you will do on a LUV, the rare times when you need something of a different range they can be "borrowed" from most major parts stores for a refundable deposit. A 25-250# wrench will work, but accuracy suffers over that wide a range, plus it is huge & heavy compared to the 20-150#.
