Can anyone point me to where I would find a lubrication chart that shows all the grease points for a 1980 Chevy LUV 4 x 4?

Thanks, Koz

I checked my 1977 series 6 shop manual & it's the 1st section telling you in text but i don't see a chart pointing out where to lube.

That is what i have found myself. There is also an eBay link for a page that is being sold but the detail refers to a 1973 as I recall and that is not clear enough to see the points. My concern is that the least time my Luv was lubed it quickly became apparent they missed some because the truck started squeaking from lack of grease. The eBay reference states there are 15 points for the 1973 so maybe I ought to go in and state they need to find all 15.

If you are using a quick oil change place understand those guys are not making much money compaired to a line tech. Most new cars have little to no lube points. They will not search long and hard for all of them. It takes less the 10 minuets to do this yourself, if you want it done right you may have to do it yourself.

Off the top of my head....
tie rod ends and idler arm. Just look at each and any joint in the steering linkage.
Top and bottom ball joints. they may or may not have zerk fittings.
The top and bottom A arms, where they pivot. 2 on each arm.
Check your u joints. some do....some don't.

Yea good luck on getting down in a putt and pointing them lube points out ....those quickie oil change shops are there to get people in n out fast & IMO unreliable at best....

BEST BET get you a grease gun, find em & grease them

Actually I seldom use the quickie lube places. Two years ago I had a car lift in my garage but have since sized down. Most or my stuff is in a 50 foot by 15 foot storage space. When this summer gets here I intend to pull out what I can use which would include the grease gun among other things. A number of things are going into a garage sale, eBay, Craigs list, and word of mouth. That includes old gas pumps, air compressor, drill press and tools.

Right now the LUV is in a shop that more or less specializes in vintage along with current vehicles. It's getting new shocks, a valve adjustment, u-joints, wheel pack and of course the oil, filter and lube. Hopefully this summer I will be able to take care of oil and lubes myself but not now.

Thanks for the comments.
