"Current 1.8 head with the 1.9 valves installed by machine shop. Mill .010 (1.8 head on 1.9 raises compression so don't deck it a lot)" Actually the pre-'80 1.8 head has a larger intake valve than the '80-on 1.8 and the 1.9 head(42.4mm vs 40.2mm, this is the same intake valve as the 2.3 engine), both 1.8 & 1.9 exhaust valves are 34mm. Check with ozgemini, but I think you can fit the 2.3L 42.4/36.0 valves, maybe even the 2.6L 44.09/37.03 valves, the stem diameter & length are all the same if there's enough material to install the matching seats. The 1.8 head/1.9 block combo gives about 9.5 compression ratio without milling, be careful you don't get the compression too high. And watch for piston clearance with oversized valves & a higher lift cam. Delta charges I think $60 for the regrind, you will have to send them a cam, expect $15-$20 shipping each way. You'll need elephant foot adjusters or lash caps also. Pacesetter has changed the header port design from square to round so you can't port match, but you can smooth the transition somewhat. Also the current collector diameter is 2.5", down from 3" from years ago.
