A while ago I was looking through the junkyard, and I found a little truck that had a weber carb in it with adaptor plate and air cleaner adapter. It turned out to be a weber. So I bought it thinking it was the 32/36. But it turned out to be a 32/34. Has anyone heard about using these carbs on a LUV? If so what was the performance like? I have searched all over and can't find anything.

Haven't heard of it but it would have a slight amount less high throttle (2/3+ open) power but get slightly better mileage at high throttle since the secondary bore is 2mm smaller in diameter. But that would make very minimal difference in mileage since you aren't usually open over 2/3 throttle
Would probably still be a noticable improvement over the stock carb still

Have you seen these in application? I heard it's aqua choke, is there a way to convert it to electric choke?

No I havent I had the 32/36. And I believe you can convert it to a manual of electric choke with the factory parts

Do you have the factory air cleaner adapter for the 32/36? Or did you just use the weber air filter?

I used the Weber filter. I know someone used the stock air cleaner to slip through emissions not sure of details tho

Finally got around to installing this carb. Works great! Much more power vs the stock hitachi carb. But will be needing a fuel pressure regulator soon though. This carb also bolts straight up to the factory intake manifold

Wow that is a sweet deal if it bolts right up
Shouldnt need a regulator i just attached the return line to my 32/36 unless the 32 34 doesnt have a spot for the fitting. The 3236 had 3 fittings 1 straight down and 2 at 45 degree angles so i plumbed fuel into one 45 and return out the other

I believe that it needs to have a fpr because it is running horribly rich. Runs nice and smooth, but it smokes black. Also when I open up the secondary, it floods out to the point where it won't run. I'm picking one up tonight and installing tomorrow morning. I'll post the results. But a much better carb vs the stock one

Okay, cleaned the jets out, installed the regulator, now it won't idle at all! Runs strong when I step on it, but it won't idle. Any help would be appreciated

Hmm..... Have you done the lean best idle setting procedure?if not i eould think it was set up to run while clogged up and is way off now.
If you did i would be suspect of the carb baae gasket not sealing up if you reused it. Beyond that im not sure what you may have fiddled with

I used a new base gasket, and I readjusted the mixture screw. All I need now is a choke adjustment and I'm set! Thanks!
