Have you been able to get it running at all yet?
Where are you located?
If you havent got it running are you sure all of the wires are on the right plug and the distributor isnt 180* off?
Good easy test. Switch the plug wires with the ones opposite of them I messed mine up and did it 180* off so swapping wires around put it in the right order

How are you wiring it? I think the firing order starts with 4...

The distributor is driven by the oil pump. You can change it without pulling it out.
Make sure your firing order is right and if it spits another fireball switch the wires for the ones 180* away so just straight across.. fire out the carb could be from the plugs firing while an intake valve is open..

Match mark on the chain & cam sprocket should be about 1-1/2 teeth to the left looking from across the radiator. The camshaft dowel through the cam gear(not the keyway) is straight up. If the crank keyway & the cam alignment dowel are both at 12 o'clock the crank and cam are at #4TDC & your distributor rotor should point to the #4 terminal in the cap. If something is different please explain what you have. All Isuzu 4 cylinder engines time at #4TDC, ALL the alignment marks will align ONLY at #4TDC, using #1 commonly gets timing 180 degrees out.

My guess from ready the posts is someone rebuilt the engine and timed the dizzy to No1 instead of no4. He had to move the wires around to get it going.
