I'm going to change all the fluids, drain the fuel, change all filters, points, plugs, wires etc.

We're the wires and plugs NGK or Denzo?

I foot to mention it's been sitting 10 years.

Did I miss anything? The oil was clean and the tank was dry. I put a gallon of gas and Start on treatment.

It started fine, but that was as far as I went.

Suggestions?

Thanks

Not sure the brand of plugs and wires matters but i have ways favored ngk plugs in my cars and dirtbikes.
I recommend replacing the fuel filter and adding a second one before the carb in case there is any crap in the fuel lines from sitting so long.

Maybe run a can of seafoam in the oil before you drain it and some in the gas. Would need some more gas unless you measure out a bit of seafoam it has the mix with gas ratio on the bottle

I would put gas in it and drive it around. Stay ready for a problem or two. Fuel filter might plug up if the gas tank is rusty. After 50/100 miles, and all is well, change the oil and coolant. It should be fine.
Oh, keep an eye out for leaks. The biggest harm letting a vehicle sit a long time is seals dry out and leak when you get it going again.

When I bought my truck it sat for a good year. My gas tank has some rust in it. I ended up having a shop clean it out and seal the inside. I use 2 gas filters. One in the stock location on frame by the gas tank, and the second up by the carb.
I had to also replace the rear brake wheel cylinders. The front calipers worked for a short term, but I ended up replace those as well.

1: Next question: Inside rear view mirror is cracked, as in all the way through. Can a repair shop replace the mirror in the existing frame?

I guess finding another complete mirror is impossible?

2: Found a Chiltons manual. It recommends 91 plus octane. Mechanic says no ethanol. I guess I was wrong all these years.

Thanks as always.

That is 91 research octane, which equals 87 octane pump unleaded. Lots of foreign-built autos use the research method for fuel requirements, my '03 Tacoma lists the same 91 octane requirement, but it's research octane, not pump octane.

Research octane + method octane / 2 = pump octane

Either way, regular 87 octane is fine. 85 is fine if you live in elevated areas like Colorado.

in my opinion, If this was sitting sitting 10 yrs ..1st thing .I'd do is drain that tank and see about getting the rust/ crude

inside ...especially if it was dry as you'll push all that (that may be inside up to your carb and only cause problems/
