Hello Fellow Luv Truckers,

Wanted to share a couple ideas on Locking up the Luv.

Besides putting in a DEAD MAN SWITCH (which cuts power to something some where TO PREVENT SOMEONE FROM STARTING IT. )

I took my E~brake off as the cable came off the wheel in the firewall area & since my brakes were preventing me from driving around

So I picked up a small padlock figured out how far the brake handle pulled out and drilled a hole in the channel and slip in the lock to

prevent the handle from being released. Now I know it doesn't look the most secure but do you think this deterrent will stop them from

rolling you truck away.

I also came across this video on fb....

IF YOU have any ideas  Lets share them here... So we can help prevent the thief of these trucks we LUV

That's a new one to me. A lot of us have a cutoff switch hidden somewhere but I haven't seen a locking hand brake yet! pretty much leaves the only theft option to winch it onto a rollback and that would be a huge pain

my hand brake doesn't work at all. Was thinking of installing an electric line lock with a hidden switch. Then they could dick with the brake handle until I came out to immobilize them...would also help my old knees while holding the truck during those uphill stoplight encounters..lol

It's a little bit of a deterrent for sure. A good thief would cut the parking brake cable from underneath. Leaving it in gear would also help to keep someone from rolling it away.

In my city, a clutch pedal is the best anti-theft device. ;)

I am surprised people are this worried about their LUV being stolen. I never worry about it, I park it in lots all the time. Hell, if it gets stolen I have it insured for more then it's worth.

I think you hit the nail on the head, the old concealed carry permit.
