Any body know how to remove the outside chrome/rubber window sweep? I'm trying to put new rubber to keep out the rain. The chrome piece extends to the front of the door under the wing window. I don't know how to do it.

They are have barbed clips that grab the edge of the door sheetmetal, you have to gently pry up on them to get them off. It comes off in one piece the rubber is stapled to the chrome strip.

Thanks Tilted. I can see the staples and they look pretty hefty for staples. Could you describe the barbed clips? Are the clips -like- spot welded to the door metal or is the clip attached to the chrome piece ? Is the clip sort of a 'U' shape that pinches both the door metal and the chrome piece? Does the clip rise out with the piece or does it stay with the door metal? I want to be able to pry in the right direction and not break anything. Also, is the chrome piece fastened at any place below the wing window? Thanks very much for your help. Don

The clip has a fine line a fork. It goes in a hole in the door, straight down IIRC . I use a staple removal tool, looks like a flat screwdriver with a slight bend in it and pry up on it through the open window from the inside...

3rd LUV.....I think so. I'm pretty sure I found the inside felt strip piece and I'm getting a sample soon. I may have the outside rubber sweep for the glass....maybe. I'll be sure to let the group know.

Hi guys....sorry I'm tardy here about the sweeps for the window. The 7/16 chrome/felt piece looks to small in width and depth. I think maybe the 5/8 style would be better but I have yet to get a sample.
