 Post subject: generator light

79 luv when you turn off the ignition the generator light comes on and the vent fan continues to run, radio, gauges etc are off

A couple guesses. Could be the voltage regulator, try to disconnect it and see if everything goes off. My best guess is the ignition switch, try to disconnect it and see what happens.

Tried voltage regulator no luck will try ignition switch

The later trucks have a "charge relay" that ONLY allows the fan to run when the battery is being charged. If this relay were to get stuck in closed position, I assume the fan would continue to run. It's worth a look. On the later trucks, it's under the hood on the driver's side inner fender.
