What is the capacity of the '79 4x4 transmission? I'm changing fluids tonight and wanna know for sure I have enough before I tear into it..

Not sure of the capacity but it does take regular motor oil.

With t-case it's 5.3l. I had engine specs on my old phone I just couldn't find it at the time haha thanks anyway guys. :D

Per my Trooper FSM MSG-5 w/t-case holds 1.22 gal (4.6L), unless that's a misprint no way your MSG-4 w/t-case holds 5.3L.
I looked in a '80 LUV FSM, says a 2wd tranny holds 1.25L (1.35qt), 4wd 2.5L (2.64qt).
