I have recently been restoring my Luv with a new carburetor and a fuel pump. I am now trying to replace the gas tank. I was told the Isuzu Pup and Trooper and replace it. I got a gas tank from an '84 Trooper but I was told it would not fit. Does anyone know if this one I have would fit, what is the right fit, and maybe where to find it?

Also does anyone know where I can check out my Vin number? It has only 15 characters...

I don't know if Trooper tanks will fit, but the tank sizes were different for long and short bed trucks. Which do you have?

Thanks. I have the 6 foot bed. The eye test I had to me said it was the same size because I took the original off to clean the sludge out of it and strapped it in the bed of the truck until I could get another one. If this one could not fit under the bottom with straps could I just put in the bed like the other until I get a replacement?
