I'm curious what I need exactly need to upgrade my stock carb to a Weber? Also which Weber carb do I need? I have a stock carb on my 79' LUV and I've always had issues with it. If possible I'd also like to use a hand choke (manual). The stock carb has a thermal regulated auto choke that never works right. Thank you for your help :)

Use the kit in the attached link. It has the electronic choke but will be a simpler install than a manual choke since you already have the power wire on your stock carb. A stock fuel pump puts out 4-7psi, Weber recommends 3psi max, so a fuel pressure regulator may be necessary. If you don't retain your fuel return system you probably need to vent the fuel filler cap. You may want to swap your stock bellcrank to the Weber to better align with the throttle cable pull direction.
Be aware a Weber may not be smog legal where you live, make sure you check before buying something you can't use.

You will most likely not pass smog with the Weber. Well not the visual with that air filter. I think Red Line/Weber has an adapter that will enable you to use your stock air filter. With that, the smog guy will most likely not even notice a Weber is under it.

That would be great to have if I have to move. I currently live in a smog exempt county. I do like to look of the stock air filter. Has anyone used the adaptor successfully?

I don't think Weber makes an adapter that fits a stock LUV air cleaner housing but they do make one that allows the use of any standard or aftermarket 5-1/8" diameter carb neck filter housing, part #99010.457.

I had one om my '80. I don't know the part number or even where I got it (it was used), but it worked great for my stock air housing.

Can you pickup a fuel pressure regulator at your local Auto parts store like NAPA?

YES! Holley makes a good one for around $40. Just remember you are trying to reduce the pressure to less than 3psi, so make sure to get one with the right adjustment range. To get it more accurate you may want to plumb in a gauge also, but that adds expense.
