ok so i found a guy with a newer luv than mine, but from the factory had front disc brakes. The guy told me if i could use the parts, I could have them so I got them for free. I got hubs, spindles, and rotors. The brake block (or proportioner valve) is still there and Im going to go back and get it. It also has the master cylinder. From what I could tell taking it apart, nothing was froze up... My question is this. The master cylinder. I couldn't find a year on the donor truck. But I'm curious if the master cylinders changed. Can I use the one that is on my luv (with drum brakes), or do I need the other one? and will the year matter, or were they all basically the same for disc brakes? will the master cylinder be an exact fit no matter the year? also, my hubs have been drilled for 5 lug on my drum brakes. I want to keep that, so is there another hub/rotor assembly that will work with my luv disc brake spindles?

Check out this article. It'll answer most of your questions. http://www.luvtruck.com/Information/Brake_swap.htm

As for the rotors, there are a few options. You can have the luv rotors redrilled to 5 lugs. One of our members does it. Try doing a search for "redrill service"
Aerospace also sells 5 lug stuff for the luv, but it's pricey.
