I was up at the stereo shop this weekend because I blew a Memphis Marine 6x9 (don't know how, it was on a crappy Kenwood 4-channel amp bridged to two. I had the gain up to make it a little louder but I figured a high end 6x9 with internal cross overs could take it.) I go up there and test all the 6x9s in my garage which were all junk so I get a pair of Kickers. They are working nicely.
Now to the important part, I'm showing the guy my truck and how it doesn't matter much about the quality of the speaker because I can't hear a damn thing in there anyways. I pull back my carpet to show him my insulation I added after I bought the truck. A couple layers of sheet styrofoam I got from Home Depot for floor insulation. He says it's garbage and to get the Mojo mat. I say fine, because my gf doesn't like riding in the truck because its loud, and I don't like the noise much either. I can't talk on the phone in there. I buy the big box of mat, $230 before tax and go home to put it and the speakers in. Wow what a difference. I did the doors, up high on the firewall, all the floors, over the trans tunnel and up the back of the cab. It's not silent but I'm way happy and everyone with a loud truck should try this stuff. Spendy but worth it. My doors are noticeably heavier now and feel like a nice European car instead of a junky Geo.
