How much fuel does a stepside fuel tank hold. My gauge-sender does not work yet. Tried to start it... No joy.check every from carb to fuel pump.. glup glup. Whack on the tank. Gong Gong. no thud. Empty!!!!!

Pretty sure the tank is the same. 10 gallons.

When I had my truck as a stepside last year I used the stock tank. As far as I knew the stepside version was just a different bed bolted on. If you have a different tank that may have been an owner change and not related to the stepside. The only thing that was different was the filler tube on mine but I had the one for the stepside bed I had.

Rectanglare custom tank. Not a fab job. This was done by a big company. The filler hose may have been changed from their setup. I'll try to post a picture a little later.

That looks like a stock tank to me. I think the filler hose is your issue but its hard to tell from your pic.

The painted one is my 72 the other was in the 76 I had

Looks like the stock tank to me too, my LUV has always had that problem fueling it.
