Are the dome lights different from 70s to 80s? I need one for my 75 and someone has one from an 81.

it might be different because the 81 is a different body and interior style. get a picture of it.

No its not, at least from what i can see. my friend owns a 81 luv diesel
and it has the same light as my 79 4x4 :lol: :lol: :lol: :P :P

Only difference I know about is the Mikado style vs the standard model. The Mikado has an extra wire for the door switches, standard just has the one wire for power. They will work in either or, but you'll lose door switch control without the Mikado (extra deluxe plus good interior/trim package) version of the light.

In the 70's models, they were a switchback style, and hinged if I remember my trucks right, and rounded edges. The 80's versions were Single Pole Single Throw slide switches that stuck out more, and was removed by a screwdriver.
