Have a 79 4x4. Would it be ok to run 2 205/75r14 and 2 27/8.50 14 tires. It is less than 1" difference. Do not want to convert to 15". Have 2 good 205/75 all terrain. Can not find anything else other than the 27/8.50. Not really wanting to buy 4 at this point. thanks

NO do not try it. If you have to get two different sizs DO NOT use 4wd at all. Thr size difference even tho it is fairly small will cause the front and rear axles to rotate at different speeds which will cause the tcase gears to bind up and can cause permanent damage and break t case or diff gears
However it wont hurt anything as long as you keep it in 2wd until you get matching tires, unless the set your about to buy is basically bald by the time u get around to the other pair.

ok, Thanks for the info. Was hoping the 27/8.5 r 14 would work being only .5 inches taller than the 205/75, but I will just have to wait til I can buy all 4.
